Warm weather – it’s almost here and it’s a great reason to celebrate with a refreshing beverage in hand. If you’re looking to add a new brew to your summer repertoire, American Craft Beer Week® is here just in time to introduce you to the right mix of barley, hops, yeast and water.

Between May 16th and May 22nd you are encouraged to focus your attention on craft beers brewed across our 50 states.  If you have a go-to that you don’t care to give up, have no fear. With a plethora of options available today – especially in Cleveland and Chicago – it will be hard not to find something that your palate appreciates.

In 1929, Joe Heinen opened the doors of a small butcher shop on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio, aiming to establish himself as the city’s purveyor of quality meats. As customers came into Heinen’s new shop for their meat purchases, they began asking him to carry groceries as well. Joe added homemade peanut butter, pickles and donuts and by 1933, business had grown enough to include a line of produce and canned goods. Heinen’s Grocery Store was born.
