Welcome to Club Fx
F is for Food and x is for prescription – for we believe food is an important cog in health.
Club Fx is a new, FREE program for Heinen’s Tasteful Rewards members that offers education, support, incentives and a heavy dash of inspiration for customers to optimize their health.
Perks include weekly nutrition tips and recipe ideas from Chief Medical Officer Dr. Todd Pesek and Chief Registered Dietitian Melanie Jatsek, exclusive Fx product discounts, an opportunity to meet with a Heinen’s Certified Wellness Consultant who will coach a customer on healthy food choices, and provides access to Heinen’s Personalized Nutrition Concierge Services.
The 7 Fx Pillars are basic eating guidelines to optimize your health.
Pillar #1: Eat your greens, as many as you can every day.
Pillar #2: Eat the rainbow, at least one fruit and two vegetables every day.
Pillar #3: Dose with omega-3 fats every day
Pillar #4: Pick your protein: choose plants over fish over fowl over beef.
Pillar #5: Choose whole grains, preferably sprouted
Pillar #6: Remember functional foods: fresh herbs and fermented foods
Pillar #7: Watch your sugar and salt: minimize added sugar and sodium

We understand there’s a lot of confusion when it comes to nutrition, so our Heinen’s team of wellness experts have worked to make it simple for our customers with the Fx-100.
The Fx-100 is a list of 100 recommended foods that can be added to meals in support of the seven Fx pillars. Of course, there are many more than 100 but we want to make it as easy as possible to start.
Want to know what to add, replace or reduce based on your health goals? Our Wellness Consultants are here to help. Club Fx members have the opportunity to schedule a 30-minute in-store Cart Check with their home store certified Wellness Consultant, free of charge.

Our Wellness Centers are open from 10am – 6pm, Monday through Friday and 10am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
The Fx nutrition pillars and Fx Top 100 products are most effective when combined with the right whole-food supplements to support key areas of health, including: digestive health, hormonal health, cardiovascular health, immune support, joint support, cognitive health, and purification and detoxification.

Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Todd is a holistic physician and published scholar who specializes in disease prevention and reversal toward longevity and vital living. Heinen’s has partnered with Dr. Todd, making him our Chief Medical Officer. The first of his kind in the United States!
Melanie Jatsek, RD, LD
Chief Registered Dietitian
Melanie Jatsek believes that the answer to a strong, healthy and vibrant body lies within. She graduated cum laude from the University of Akron, earning a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and has over 20 years of experience in wellness program development, health coaching and professional speaking. As a published author of three books and registered dietitian for Heinen’s Grocery Store, Melanie offers programs, services, and tools to help Heinen’s customers take inspired action to build the healthy body they were meant to live in…without giving up their favorite foods.

Personalized Nutrition Center
Personalized Nutrition Coaching
Interested in diving a bit deeper into optimizing your health? Club Fx members have access to additional concierge services for a fee.
Personalized Nutrition Coaching allows for individualized work with Heinen’s Registered Dietitians Melanie Jatsek, RD, LD or Abigail Taft, MS, RD, LD.
Schedule an appointment to identify your health goals and determine your personalized Fx Script to meet those goals. Your dietitian will work to identify the foods and supplements that are best for you. After a 45-minute introductory visit, your dietitian will give you a store tour to guide your shopping with these Fx scripts. You will be introduced to your home store Wellness Consultant so they too can help you on subsequent shopping trips.
Your dietitian will meet with you two more times for 30 minute-sessions to ensure you are on the right track. Plus, for that initial month, you can have access to unlimited chat exchanges with your dietitian.
Another service offered to Club Fx members is a “Pantry Check.” What’s in your refrigerator and cupboards at home is as important as what you are buying at the store. This wrap-around approach is key in helping you make effective changes in your nutrition. Send your dietitian photos of your items at home, and they will work with you by making recommendations of what to reduce, replace and add to make your kitchen Fx approved!
